About me

I’ve been a music fan my whole life, ever since first learning that old earworm, “Old McDonald.” Music is a love I shared with my father, who instilled an appreciation for bands and artists like Fleetwood Mac, The Rolling Stones, Heart, and James Taylor. When I met my “bonus dad” in my teens, he taught me all about Pat Benatar, Billy Joel, and Elton John. Those are all some of my favorites to this day.

I was a junior at Ithaca College in my hometown of Ithaca, NY the first time someone paid me for the use of my voice. It was at the Top 40 radio station I’d listened to my whole young life, and I started as a news intern, and later became News Director and then, after graduation, added “DJ” to my resume.

In the years since, I’ve done just about every daypart (middays and afternoons are my sweet spots); I’ve been MD, APD, and PD; I’ve worked Hot AC, CHR, Classic Rock, and Country; and I’ve worked in both terrestrial and streaming radio. Along the way I’ve won an ACM Award, been nominated for CMA Awards, and been voted “Best Radio Personality” by faithful listeners. As a programmer, I’ve been known for my support of new and independent artists, and in my most recent role, I worked to improve representation for women, BIPOC and LGBTQ+ artists.

So, the answer to the question, “do you ever shut up?” is… well, not really, no. And I don’t slow down, either.

I live in Nashville, TN with my two pit bulls and when I’m not working in my home studio, I love reading, singing karaoke, raising money for St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, and going to concerts (which is technically work, but just try and keep me away).
